my take on things

South African entertainment industry:
The entertainment industry is labelled one of the most cruel industry to join, it is said that it is not for the faint-hearted. entertainment industry we are talking about radio, television music. The scene from south Africa entertainment industry is not accommodating on new talent. be it you are in music acting or just presenting. we see the same faces everywhere, let us take Pearl Thusi for instance, she acts, presents and she's also on radio is she really talented? When South African celebrities are questioned about why they get involved in so many activities they say the industry requires one to be versatile. I believe one should specialize on a single craft and be perfect in it. Taking a look at Hollywood, you will not see Charlize Theron being a radio deejay or presenter, they go on radio to be interviewed not to do the interview and we wonder why Hollywood is big? It is big because they look for talent and not the already famous celebrities. South Africa has the national school of arts and AFDA where young hopefuls go to study to be presenters, actresses radio deejays, these kind of schools do not come cheap a presenting course costs roughly R.5000.  These graduates are being exploited because should they get a presenting/acting gig it will be a brief appearance and they get paid less. However the industry somehow exploits the musician too in an interview Brian Themba, who now also act, mentioned that he wishes for a day where South African artists are not just opening for and international artist in a music concert instead these international artist should be treated in the same level with local artists when there are called to perform in south Africa.
