Haven't posted in while due to laziness and everything else, have u ever been so tired and just feel you want to be on lock-down or just take a vacation to the islands somewhere and just recuperate. Lately the idea of going to work even study abroad has crossed my mind it would be awesome, but the thought of leaving what you familiar with and going to the land of the unknown doesn't sit well with me, i'm thinking mommy is getting old and believe i must see her as often as possible and too much of "BANGED UP ABROAD" and "BOARDER SECURITY"episodes don't help either, lol have you seen how those boarder securities don't take nonsense, what if somebody puts drugs in our language and we get caught, yho, i would really just die. i let my fears take control and it leaves me feeling uncertain about the kind of person i am. i read a book( WHO MOVED MY CHEESE) years back it talks about change, how we as individuals are scared exploring new things, taking risks basically we would rather starve ourselves and not take opportunities that life throws at us.for now i will settle for taking a vacation somewhere quiet with hubby and my princess and maybe after our holiday, when ever that will be, i would have made a concrete decision about my future. xoxo

Meet my friend

Meet my friend Tumie the
star.
A spontaneous lady who loves
make-up, especially the Smokey eye. I met this beautiful soul in high school
and our paths crossed again in University. I would describe her as an introvert
and a hard-core feminist , who funny enough is very loud around people she
knows, Boitumelo is the kind of person who knows what she wants in life and she
works hard towards achieving what her heart desires. She wants to one day be
the next ophrah and have her own talk show, she records herself as if she is
interviewing people, she says that studying Media brings her a step closer to
achieving that goal. Her favourite line is allow, of which she mentions
unnecessarily, this lady eats a lot and thank God she has good genes, Last year
Boitumelo fell pregnant of which wasn’t part of her plan, she felt as if her
world was falling apart and she felt stuck and had disappointed herself and her
family, despite the situation she was in. my star returned to school to
continue with her studies and she is now
doing her final year, what I
learned from Tumi is that perseverance and determination will keep one going
despite the circumstances you are facing. She travels daily to and from Bloemfontein and never has she
once missed school, her passion for school is out of this world. Her fear is
not being able to achieve her goals and she loves Beyonce and sings and dances along to every song.
life on campus
Life on campus
I had the opportunity to
attend an art exhibition on campus and what a beauty it was. The University of
the Free State has an art gallery, Johannes Stegmann Art Gallery situated at
Sasol library. On 09/04/2014 was the official opening of the annual student art
exhibition, the title this year is OCULUS which is the Italian word for eye. The
event was well attended, Dean of faculty of humanities Professor. LJS
Botes was also present. when entering the gallery, we were welcomed with music by a live band. Before the procession,
attendees where served snacks with wine and juice. Students who study B.A
degree in fine arts created the master pieces, wanted
the audience to be aware of how they view art. Angela was the mc of the event, she started
off by greeting the attendees and then went on introducing the guest speaker Elrie Joubert, a lecturer at the Department of Graphic Desig, Joubert mentioned that the main
idea behind the setup of the exhibition, it is divided in two categories:
man-made objects and nature, on the left hand side of the gallery where man-made
objects and on the left is was nature, it was said these two sides where
communicating with each other and at the back was self-portraits symbolising that
they are staring back at us. It is amazing on how a lot of effort is put on the
set up of the gallery on would think they just placed them there. The
main idea of the student exhibition is to give art student the opportunity to showcase
their work and get recognition, some of the paintings were up for sale ranging
from R115-3000. The exhibition will run until 2/05/2014, it is open for public.
my take on things
South
African entertainment industry:
The entertainment industry is labelled one of the most cruel industry to join, it is said that it is not for the faint-hearted. entertainment industry we
are talking about radio, television music. The scene from south Africa
entertainment industry is not accommodating on new talent. be it you are in
music acting or just presenting. we see the same faces everywhere, let us take
Pearl Thusi for instance, she acts, presents and she's also on radio is she
really talented? When South African celebrities are questioned about why they
get involved in so many activities they say the industry requires one to be
versatile. I believe one should specialize on a single craft and be perfect in
it. Taking a look at Hollywood, you will not see Charlize Theron being a radio
deejay or presenter, they go on radio to be interviewed not to do the interview
and we wonder why Hollywood is big? It is big because they look for talent and
not the already famous celebrities. South Africa has the national school of
arts and AFDA where young hopefuls go to study to be presenters, actresses
radio deejays, these kind of schools do not come cheap a presenting course
costs roughly R.5000. These graduates
are being exploited because should they get a presenting/acting gig it will be
a brief appearance and they get paid less. However the industry somehow exploits
the musician too in an interview Brian Themba, who now also act, mentioned that
he wishes for a day where South African artists are not just opening for and
international artist in a music concert instead these international artist
should be treated in the same level with local artists when there are called to
perform in south Africa.

ME,MYSELF AND I
Hi guys my name is Reanetse
Letsoenyo a.k.a Rara. i am 24 year old, who was born in Qwa Qwa did my primary
education there, then later moved to Bloemfontein which is where i attended at
Brebner High School. I stayed at the hostel, i learned a lot of things and
made friends #mmmmm. My high school was one of the best moments in my life, staying at the hostel taught me some sort of Independence actually remember the first day where
i had to iron my school uniform, had no idea where to start, luckily my friend showed
me how, I was in grade nine this incident made me realise, I am big girl now and
mommy is not there to hold my hand L.
I’d describe myself as simple, a girl who loves to pout and maybe loud, I am a
people’s person though I find it really hard to start up a conversation with a
stranger, guess that’s makes me a shy person, is there such a thing as a shy
journalist? Yes I am an aspiring journalist, studying at the University of the Free
State (B.A MEDIA STUDIES AND JOURNALISM). I see myself as a magazine columnist,
am more into the fun part of news, your typical tabloids with celeb gossips. I
love watching reality shows and totally into horoscopes, anyway am an
Aquarian, I am into the spoken word (poetry) my favourite poet is Napo
Mashiane. I fear not getting a job after obtaining my Degree. My mom is my role
model she always tells me that “when you
have God in your life all things are possible”. She inspires me to work
hard and I am grateful to have her in my life.
